As Telegram mini-apps pulled millions toward TON, most users stayed inside custodial bots. We helped Tonkeeper turn that attention into self-custody wallet activations across the CIS.

Self-custody TON wallet native to the Telegram ecosystem

The challenge: The Telegram mini-app wave pulled millions of users toward TON, but most stayed inside custodial bots and never moved to a wallet they actually controlled. Tonkeeper was the natural self-custody home for that audience, yet the jump from a tap-to-earn game to seed-phrase custody was a drop-off point, especially across the CIS where the mini-app boom was loudest.

Our strategy: We built the engagement around the moment users were already active, inside Telegram, and treated self-custody as the next natural step rather than a separate decision. Advisory work mapped the drop-off points, and the campaign was sequenced to catch users at peak mini-app engagement and guide them into Tonkeeper without friction. The work was scoped to a focused CIS campaign, not Tonkeeper's global footprint.

What we did: We activated 54 TON-native and CIS creators to demonstrate wallet setup directly from Telegram, and ran always-on community content that answered custody questions in the channels users already lived in. Messaging leaned on speed and simplicity, and onboarding flows were reinforced across Telegram and X in Russian and regional languages.

Channels: Telegram, X, YouTube KOLs, Community

The results: The campaign activated 3.2K wallets and reached 820K people across the CIS. Active-wallet retention improved 33% as onboarding education reduced early drop-off, giving Tonkeeper a repeatable path from Telegram mini-app attention to genuine self-custody.
